Title: The Interdisciplinary Experience on Residential Treatment Outcomes

Abstract

Youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF) are an interdisciplinary treatment program to enhance mental health outcomes in youth and adolescents. Psychology, counseling, psychiatry, nursing, art therapy, music therapy, social work, and internal medicine disciplines working together to enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of all residents. This presentation follows outcomes of residents attending the PRTF while gaining an understanding of how the interdisciplinary structure played a role in their treatment outcomes, including mental health symptom relief and family reunification. Additionally, looking at reported staff experiences working within an interdisciplinary team to create discussion, provoke thinking, and influence organizational change
