Neonatal care has evolved rapidly with the introduction of innovative technologies, evidence-based clinical strategies, and increasingly individualized approaches to the management of critically ill newborns. These advances are transforming the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of neonatal conditions while contributing to improved survival and long-term outcomes.
This mini-symposium will explore recent innovations in neonatology, with particular emphasis on emerging approaches to respiratory support, neonatal monitoring, nutrition, infection prevention, neuroprotection, and developmental care. Advances such as non-invasive respiratory technologies, continuous and multimodal monitoring, point-of-care diagnostics, artificial intelligence-assisted clinical decision-making, and precision-based approaches are creating new opportunities for earlier intervention and more personalized neonatal management.
Special attention will also be given to strategies aimed at reducing complications associated with prematurity and critical illness, including bronchopulmonary dysplasia, neonatal sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis, intraventricular hemorrhage, and neurodevelopmental impairment. Innovations in family-integrated care and multidisciplinary collaboration will be considered as important components of modern neonatal practice.
By bringing together emerging evidence and practical clinical perspectives, this symposium aims to highlight how innovation can be translated into safe, effective, and equitable neonatal care. The discussion will also address challenges surrounding implementation, resource availability, training, and the responsible integration of new technologies into neonatal intensive care.
